The Church through the Pontifical Mission Societies(PMS), has today Launched preparations for Vocations Sunday(World Day of Prayer for Vocations) which will be celebrated on 25th April 2021. The national launch took place at Mtendere parish, Dedza diocese.
Vocations Sunday encourages young people to discern about their future life in the Church and society either as Priests, brothers, sisters, married people or single life. It is also a day for the collection of money for the Solidarity Mission Fund for St. Peter the Apostle for the formation of future priests and religious men and women.
The preparation period and the actual day of Vocations Sunday, All Catholics, as Bastised and Sent, must take up their baptismal obligations of sharing their faith with others as Missionaries through Prayer, teaching the Word of God and offering money for the work of evangelization and for the salvation of all people.
This year’s Vocations Sunday will be celebrated under the theme: A Call to Service after the example of St. Joseph.
